Stacking the Shelves (92) +Weekly Recap!

Posted 9 March, 2014 by Nereyda Gonzalez in STS, Uncategorized, Weekly Recap / 23 Comments

Another week that has flown by!  I swear, I feel like I just wrote last week’s STS post.  Between my sick daughter and me being sick this past month, my reading has taken a hit.  Thank goodness for audiobooks!  Things are looking better now (although I still have that annoying cough that doesn’t go away) so I hope my reading picks up.  I got some exciting packages last week that I am very excited for including some cool surprises.  They all somehow ended up getting here the same day so it was like Christmas for me!

For Review:
photo 2 (5)Disney has the prettiest packages!  The Summer of Chills box was such a nice surprise! It came in a cute box with a puzzle and a cool gel eye mask.  My daughters quickly took possession of the puzzle and eye mask but they aren’t touching my books.

Audiobooks for Review:
faking normal maybe one day
Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens
-So excited for this audiobook since it’s narrated by Emma Galvin (who also narrates the Divergent books)
Maybe One Day by Melissa Kantor
-I haven’t heard from this narrator yet but I’m still excited to hear it!

Signed Books:
My friend Steph from NoBS Book Reviews is addicted to going to author signings.  She was lucky enough to go to the Dark Days event and was super nice and offered to get my books signed.  I now have signed books by Tahereh Mafi, Veronica Rossi and Sophie Jordan!  Woo-hoo!

  1. This is an amazing haul Nereyda! I’ve taken an interest in Don’t Look Back lately and haven’t heard back from NetGalley, so assume it’s a no, but I’m really intrigued, much like I am about Far From You now, it sounds great. I’ve heard fantastic things about Faking Normal, so I really hope you like that- scratch that, I hope you love them all! :)
P.S. Lucky you getting your books signed, I would kill for that! *grabs kitchen knife*..

  2. Man! That Disney package is awesomesauce! I’m STILL pending for Don’t Look Back, but I think one of my dear blogger friends is sending me an extra copy. :) I am beyond jealous of Searching For Perfect because I’m ALSO pending on that one and I loved the first one! Luckily, I got Twisted, so I can start that one soon for the tour! I’m glad you guys are starting to feel better! Enjoy all these new books!

  3. I’m curious to see what you think about Dark Metropolis. I’m still unsure about whether I want to read it or not. I’m just going to wait for your review.
Also, yay for Faking Normal. It’s a heart-breaking book, but I loved it and I hope you do too.
    Happy reading!

  5. Disney really DOES have the best packages! And their books are pretty sweet. I can’t believe I haven’t landed an ARC (or eARC) of Don’t Look Back yet, but alas, it is quite a popular one. I have read both The Ring and the Crown and Death Sworn – both are INCREDIBLE fantasy reads. I didn’t like Faking Normal, but I loved Into the Still Blue and Uninvited. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Nereyda! And have a fabulous week :)

  6. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Oh awesome! I never get cool packages like that from the pubs. Pretty envious! And soooo want to read Don’t Look Back! I put a request in on Netgalley back in December and haven’t gotten any kind of answer! Hate to be the blogger to contact publishers, but wondering if I need to do that in order to get the ARCs I want to read. Haven’t been getting many these days.

Hope you enjoy your totally awesome haul!

  7. I loved Reboot and I’m excited for Rebel. The cover of The Ring & the Crown is amazing! Curious about Don’t Look Back. I still need to read White Hot Kiss. Twisted! I was surprised there were going to be so many more books in the series! I thought Tangled was a standalone but I’m happy for more. Ohh signed goodies! I was so sad Tahereh Mafi didn’t come near me for her book tour. I was really hoping to get her last book signed. I have the first two signed. Veronica Rossi was just here Friday though and I got her last book signed. I still haven’t read any of them yet though! I need too! I’ve been getting addicted to author signings as well although they are quite a hit to my budget.

  8. See, S&S DOES like you! lol

I JUST finished Death Sworn (like literally 5 minutes ago). I really liked it. Goodreads claims it is a duology which I like to hear too.

That’s a pretty awesome Disney package. The author of Far From You is coming here in May so I know I’ll be picking that one up and giving it a try.

Okay. off to write a review, FINALLY, and then to start the readathon!
