Summary from Goodreads:
Freshman year of college is hard even when you’re not tied to the future king of a supernatural society.
Allie dives into college head first with Hailey as her roommate and the city of New Orleans as her backyard. As things within The Society heat up, Allie realizes that whether she’s with Levi or not, she’s in far too deep to turn back.

I really liked Flightand was excited to participate in the blog tour for Focus. As I’ve said before there’s something about Alyssa’s writing that I just love. For me, her books are like comfort food. It’s so easy to get sucked in one of her books right from the beginning (which is important for me since most of my books don’t survive the first 50 pages). It had been a couple of months since I read Flight and I was a little fuzzy on some of the smaller details but within a few pages, I was right back in the world of Pterons.
After Levi’s shocking bombshell towards the end of Flight it’s safe to say that Allie and Levi’s relationship is rocky. Allie is dealing with her new life as best as she can but her feelings for Levi just complicate things further. As much as she hates to admit it, she loves Levi but she is still understandably very upset for what he did. (It wasn’t cheating FYI) Levi is determined to make things work with Allie and not just because of his obligation to the Pteron world but because he loves her. But he has a lot of damage to repair and Allie doesn’t make it easy on him. I loved that Allie made him work for forgiveness and trust, but at the same time I was getting a little bit frustrated. Levi is so damn charming and sweet and cocky that I just wanted to see them back together again. But I did respect Allie for not giving in so quickly. Dealing with her new life, college, new friends, and her family is enough as it is without dealing with all of the Pteron problems and having to fear for her life. Just when Allie and Levi start to get close again some new shocking discovery scares her away. The moments they did share together I loved and I hope we get more of them in the next book. They were sweet, sexy and realistic (you know, except for the whole paranormal thing). Unfortunately Levi is still keeping things from Allie. She forgave him once, will she be understanding next time.
One of my favorite things about Alyssa’s books is that she has some of the most likeable secondary characters. Can Jared please get his own story!? Although he was a jerk in the first book, we get to learn more about him in Focus and I love the new friendship between him and Allie and his loyalty to Levi. I wouldn’t mind reading about Owen and Hailey either. I think we need to learn more about them! With plenty of shocking new discoveries and plot surprises, Focus was another hit for me. Whether it’s her contemporary stories or her paranormal stories, I am a fan of her writing and will continue to read whatever she releases next. With a cliffhanger ending (but not as huge as Flight), Focus will leave you wanting more! I can’t wait to read Found (did you see that cover?) and I really hope to see more of Jared, Hailey and Owen and some more sexy angel wing scenes please!
Some of my favorite non-spoiler quotes from Focus:
-”You’ll fly me home?”
“You know I’d fly you anywhere.”
-I tried to stay calm. Being mad at Levi was nothing new but it didn’t get easier. It’s hard to deal with a guy you both love and hate.
-“You never give up do you?”
“Not when it comes to you.”
-“Hey, how are you feeling, Sleeping Beauty?”
“You really like to call me princess names, don’t you?”
He laughed. “Well, you are my princess.”
- “So you’ve never done it with your wings out, right?”
He laughed. “No, I haven’t.” His hand settled on my very exposed leg.
“Could we?”
“Come home with me, Al, and we can do anything you want.”

Love the quotes you chose! Some of them I chos too and I really like the princess one. Who don’t want to be the princess of a paranormal society!?!?!? Or maybe that is just my weird dream! Jared is an intriguing secondary character. He was a jerk but a loyal jerk LOL Love Allie & Levi. I am wondering what he is hiding when Allie says she can leave if by her own free will I guess?! But why leave?! Levi is wonderful!

I loved these books to. I got kind of frustrated with Allie because I thought she took too long to forgive Levi, but was really glad when she did. I will be heartbroken if things don’t work out for them in Found. I absolutely loved Jared in this book, and you’re right, he was a jerk in book #1, but now I want him to have his own book two. Seems like things are brewing between him and Tiffany. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I’m glad to here that you liked this book. I’ve tried some books by this author but unfortunately her writing style just wasn’t for me. I like the sound of this one though!
Great review, Nereyda!
