The Ones that Got Away…(2012)

Last year was amazing book-wise. But no matter how many books I read (134), I didn’t get a chance to read all the ones I wanted to. There are so many I missed but here are my top choices:
Plan on reading in the next couple months:

Sea Breezeseries by Abbi Glines

Falling Kingdomsby Morgan Rhodes

Which of these do you recommend the most?

Comments

  1. I end up with the same problem! And in most cases, they are on my shelf already too! I will recommend Clockwork Angel because the series is coming to an end in March. Oh and definitely read Venom! I hear The Sea of Tranquility is a must read as well. I’ll be reading that one in a couple weeks. :)

  2. The selection and poison princess were two of my favorites this year, I would totally suggest reading opal, I loved it! shatter me is really good too.

  3. Dearly, Beloved by Lia Habel was a really good read!

  4. There are a lot of good ones here! I’d put Shatter Me and The Edge of Never at the top of the list. Those are two of my favorites of 2012 (after averything Colleen Hoover wrote). Then Pandemonium (better than Delirium), The Infernal Devices series, and Poison Princess. Skip The Iron King altogether unless you prefer action over romance. See Breeze series is good but not as good as the others you have – they’re sexy but not very deep so depending on what you like… I hear Thoughtless/Effortless and Sea of Tranquility are awesome but haven’t read those yet. Will definitely get to them this year!

  5. I LOVE shatter me! I cant wait for the release for unravel me. I am sad they changed the covers though. I have the original Arc of Shatter Me. I am working on clearing off some of my bookshelf. I am currently reading Fever (The Chemical Garden Trilogy) I am going to read Endlessly, Velveteen, Masque of the red Death, The selection, & Dearly Departed & Dearly Beloved Sometime throughout this year. My goal is 45 books but at least 10 of them have to come off my physical shelf. All of those except one is on my physical shelf.

  6. You should DEFINITELY read Shatter Me, The Edge of Never, and Clockwork Angel. All of those are amazing! Pandemonium and Poison Princess were also really awesome!

  7. You have some good books there. I can’t wait for you to read Abbi’s books, and girl, when you get to While it Lasts and Just for Now, you are gonna love them – Cage and Preston are two more to add to our book-ho boyfriend list. Waiting until the next book in a series comes out sounds like a good idea. I’ll have to keep that in mind. You have quite a few that I would like to read on your list. I am starting The Edge of Never soon for a tour and looking forward to it.

  8. I know exactly how you feel! I have so many books that I’ve bought but have never got around to reading! I’ve only read 5 off your list so I have some catching up to do too :)

  9. First off, I love the title of this post! The One that Got Away is now stuck in my head, but very cute post choice. ;) There are a couple books on your list that I have to pick up as well, like Clockwork Angel and Iron King. Both books are so popular, so it’s surprising that I haven’t yet. =P But you really do need to pick up Pandemonium! It’s pretty fantastic, even though it does have a cliffhanger. But Requiem is pretty close to coming out now!

Great list! I hope that you manage to get to all of these. <3

  10. I would recommend The Iron King, mainly cause I’ve been rereading that series to review. Also, The Selection and Shatter Me are pretty good. P.S. if you’re interested I’m giving away the entire Iron Fey series on my blog. Here’s a link for anyone interested: http://zachsyareviews.blogspot.com/p/blog-page.html

  11. OMG, go read The Edge of Never RIGHT NOW!!!! I still need to read Captuve in the Dark. Thanks for the reminder! Can’t wit to see what you think of the books. Because of low is awesome too!

  12. Clockwork Prince is my ultimate favorite! I hope you’ll have a chance to read it! I actually think The Infernal Devices is better than The Mortal Instruments. :D

I also love The Iron King. Kagawa’s books are very entertaining. But I think The Iron Queen is her best work. :D

I’m currently reading Falling Kingdoms, and so far, so good. :D

  13. Well of your list I would recommend Dearly Beloved!

  14. DUDE THE IRON KING! YES YES YES YES YES!

I still remember our deal! Tweet me when you start Iron King I’ll start Slammed the same exact time! It will be EPICNESS. :D *excited*

Yeah, now I’m like REALLY excited. Not normal excited, but REALLY excited. This’ll be awesome. Just saying ;P Also, Dearly, Beloved looks amazing and yes, Opal’s ending was like “OMG YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT TO ME REWIND NOW!” Well, I was a little disappointed, but I’m in the minority. :P I’m sure you’ll love it though!

    And Such a Rush=AWESOME CONTEMP. Awesome :D

  15. Yes !!! I finished Hopeless yesterday too. OMG it has to be one of my favorite books ever. I cried, I laughed and how I wish Dean Holder was real. This book was like a mix of Perks of Being A Wall Flower, Beautiful Disaster and Law & Order SVU, it was amazing. She is now one of my favorite author because Slammed and Point of Retreat had me so emotional just like this one.

I don’t have twitter, tried it not for me, call me old fashion lol. But feel free to email me about anything @ breakfastatcindis@gmail.com, I’d love to hear your opinion on other books : )

  18. You have a lot of great books on that list! I really need to read Abbi Glines Sea Breaze series. I have the first two. Opal does have a major cliffhanger and I am dying for Origin to come out!! I DNF’d Velveteen and Dearly Beloved. Hopefully you have better luck with them. I’m reading The Edge of Never right now. :)

  19. Thoughtless and Effortless by S.C. Stephens were SO good. I can’t wait for Reckless!
