Summary from Goodreads:

Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he’ll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it’s going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together…or in love.

If you have read any of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s young adult books, then you know that she can bring the hotness! When I first found out about her adult books, I knew that I just had to read them. Tempting the Best Man was a hot and steamy read and I was thrilled to learn that each Gamble brother would get his own story. As much as I loved Chase and Maddie’s story in Tempting the Best Man, Chad and Bridget’s story brings us to a whole new level of hotness!

Chad Gamble is a ladies man, at least that is what everyone thinks. When he meets Bridget at a club that is rumored to be a sex club, he knows right away that he wants her. Chad goes in to make his move and surprisingly, they both hit it off and have really great chemistry. After paparazzi catches them in a compromising position, Chad’s management team sees the perfect fix for Chad’s playboy image. They are pretty much blackmailed into a fake relationship but soon the lines of reality start to blur and Chad and Bridget must figure out what is real and what is fake.

My favorite thing about this book? Easy. Chad! As far as hot guys he is the best there is. He is and egotistical jerk but he is also sweet and romantic and hot. Did I mention hot? The term swoon-worthy was invented for guys like Chad Gamble! Bridget was the complete opposite of him but they complemented each other perfectly. Their relationship was equal parts funny, sweet, frustrating and sexy! Okay, so the sexy part does beat out the other categories. I don’t know why, but I love reading contemporary romances about male athletes. That’s why Rachel Gibson books are some of my favorites. This story is a great addition to the list of my favorite adult romance books.

I loved that we got to read about Chase and Maddie and see what they are up to. We also got to learn a little bit more about the last Gamble brother, Chandler. I don’t know about you guys but I am so unbelievably freaking excited to read his story! He was such an asshole and you guys know those are my favorite kind. If I’m not mistaken, we got the set up for the next story and it sounds fantastic. Tempting the Player was an insanely hot story full of heart pounding action (yeah, that kind of action!) that will leave you breathless and ready for more! Get ready to meet your new fantasy guy: Chad Gamble!

5 out of 5 hot sparkly stars!

Some of my favorite non-spoiler quotes from Tempting the Player:

-When she got home, she’d dive into that Reese’s pie she discovered in the local market earlier and that book she’d totally stolen off of Maddie’s desk when she’d left work. Bridget had no idea what it was about, but the cover was green-she loved the color green-and the dude was hot.
-It was a Friday night, she was at a club, and a good-looking man was currently giving her the I-want-to-take-you-home-and-I-hope-I-last-longer-than-five-minutes look… and she was thinking about pie, a young adult book, and feeding her cat. She was so turning into the cat lady at twenty-seven. Sweet.

-”I want you. Bad. Right now. Against the wall. On my bed. The floor and maybe in the bathroom later. I have a shower stall and a Jacuzzi we could put to really good use. I know you’d like it.”

-Chad had prowled over to her, and she felt good caged in between those powerful arms, but when he kissed her flushed forehead and then the tip of her nose, she lost a little of herself forever.
